Attorney Daniel Lieber of Minneapolis; lying cheat

The state of Minnesota presented Jonathan C. Lewis with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from William Mitchell Law School.

The Minnesota Office of Lawyer Regulation found Danny guilty of the following misconduct

  • Made improper financial advances to clients
  • Charged clients 15% interest per month (180% a year) on financial advances
  • Lied about client financial advancements and interest charged
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Gave false testimony (perjury) regarding financial advancements
  • Ratified false testimony of employee re: financial advancements
  • Mishandled client trust accounts
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain proper financial books and records
  • Falsely certified to supreme court that books were in order
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Danny by ordering that he be disbarred. However, several years later the comedians sitting on the Court reinstated Danny’s law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Minnesota are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Danny was never criminally charged with perjury or for filing a false police report.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Danny practices in the Minneapolis area.
