Solicitor Andrew Moore of Melbourne, AUS; ethical dwarf

The Victoria Law Society presented Andrew J. Moore with a law license in 1966.

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Andy guilty of the following misconduct.

Andy failed to meet his tax obligations for a period of 17 years (1989 to 2006) on gross professional fees he earned totaling $2,470,394.

Subsequently, Andy was convicted of 16 charges of breaching the Taxation Administration Act of 1953 in regards to his failure to file income tax returns and 17 charges of breaching the same section in respect of his failure to lodge business activity statements on time. Andy later pleaded guilty to all 34 criminal charges.

The Australian Taxation Office instituted proceedings against Andy in the County Court claiming he owed the following amounts.

  • Income Tax = $616,448
  • GST = $94,667
  • Interest = $22,453
  • Penalty = $75,481
  • Total Amount Owed = $1,008,049

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Administrative Council punished Andy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2014), Andy practices at 472 Bourke Street in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
