Solicitor Maurice McCarthy of New South Wales; ethical elf

The Law Society of New South Wales presented Maurice John McCarthy with a law license in 1976.

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Maurice guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Maurice!)
  • Employed disqualified solicitor w/o prior approval

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal punished Maurice by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Maurice practices with Brazel Moore Lawyers at 131 Donnison Street, Fosford, New South Wales, Australia.
