Judge John Doyle of Los Angeles; convicted drunk

The state of California presented John Thaddeus Doyle with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Loyola University Law School in Los Angeles.

Former Gov. Gray Davis was duped into appointing Johnny as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in 2001. Johnny didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Los Angeles area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

At around 11:00 p.m. Johnny caused a traffic collision while driving his vehicle under the influence of alcohol (DUI) in Los Angeles.

Subsequent breath tests showed that Johnny’s blood-alcohol level was .21%, which is almost three times the lawful limit of .08%.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the California Commission on Judicial Performance punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. October 2014), Johnny remains sitting as a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge, albeit when sober.
