Attorney Travis Murrel of DC; repeat offender

 

The District of Columbia Bar presented Travis A. Murrel with a law license in 1976.

 

The DC Bar Counsel found Travis guilty of the following misconduct.

 

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Paulie’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

 

Travis’ 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to maintain complete records of client funds
  • Failed to notify client of funds pain to court to settle case
  • Improperly withdrew funds from trust account to pay his fees when the amount was disputed by the client
  • Failed to promptly client funds in his possession

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

Travis’ 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dufus)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to represent client zealously
  • Failed to take any substantive steps to achieve client’s law objective
  • Failed to keep client informed as to status of legal matter

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

 

As we speak (ca. October 2014), Travis practices at 10 G Street NE in Washington, DC.
