The State of Maryland presented James W. Beane Jr. with a law license in 1995.
The District of Columbia Bar Counsel found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.
- Failed to communicate with client
- Failed to provide competent representation (Dufus)
- Failed to respond to court orders
- Failed to prosecute his clients’ interests
- Negligently misappropriated funds
- Gross negligence led to clients’ appeals being dismissed
- Failed to act with due diligence
- Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
- Failed to explain matter necessary to allow client to make informed decisions re: representation
- Failed to take necessary steps to protect client’s interests after being
- Failed to safeguard client funds
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
