A message from Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer
This heart-felt message to my sea of victims (ca. 1987-2010) is meant as a sincere apology of my gross misfeasance in office.
As you well know, I have dedicated my judicial career to the “total avoidance of propriety.” Moreover, I readily admit that I have treated my oath of office, the Code of Judicial Conduct and the Code of Professional Responsibility for attorneys with total contempt and disdain.
 
I believe it is of the utmost importance that my victims, both perceived and real need to realize that I truly believe that as Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court that, I held the most powerful political position in the State of Ohio. For anyone to suggest otherwise wouldn’t pass the involuntary laugh test if ya know what I mean.
What kind of Chief Justice would I have been if I refused to do the bidding for special interests (insurers, law firms, well-recognized polluters and/or those working in the medical field? Can you really blame me for acting in their best interests when over the years they have contributed hundreds-of-thousands, if not millions of dollars to my campaigns for Chief Justice?
What would your opinion of me have been if I had cast consistent votes on the Court that were adverse to the interests of these folks? You would have rightfully called me a thankless, two-faced hypocrite, right?
I’m sure those who have provided me with bribes, I’m sorry I mean campaign contributions over the years were confident that I lacked the necessary ethics and moral to conduct myself in accordance with my oath of office. And they were consistently proven to be right, right?
However, in an attempt to leave a lasting legacy as the longest sitting state Chief Justice in the history of the good ol’ U. S. of A., I’ve determined that at a minimum, my sea of victims deserve an apology for the horrific and irreversible damages I’ve intentionally visited upon them over the past twenty-three years.
In my defense, can you really fault me for donning a pair of industrial strength knee pads while servicing those folks and/or industries that purchased favorable rulings from me in the past? I thought not!
Can there be any dispute that due to my personal efforts at “packing the court” with complaint lackeys such as Justices O’Donnell, O’Connor, Stratton and/or Lanzinger that my “legacy” in continuing to service my contributors will live in infamy so to speak?
Again, I offer my sincerest apologies to those litigants, attorneys and/or judges who were singled-out to be victimized by me for having the audacity to question my ethics and legal acumen. Put simply, you bastards got what ya deserved!
And lastly and with all due respect, my final message to the multitude of victims of my ongoing efforts to punish my real/perceived enemies and/or to reward my friends, associates and/or those who have contributed tens-of-thousands of dollars to my campaigns, please see the photo to the right which I received in the past from a constituent (longtime contributer) who opined that I was in fact the most ethical Chief Justice to have ever served on a State Court.
