Prosecutor Marriya Wright of Spokane; ethical misfit

The state of Washington provided Marriya Christine Wright with a law license in 2005 after she graduated from Southwestern University Law School in Los Angeles.

Marriya is currently (August 2014) under investigation regarding her relationship with a six-time convicted felon. Authorities stated that Marriya may have helped the felon elude arrest (KXLY).

Marriya, 34, exchanged nearly 1300 texts with Matthew Baumrucker, 31, over a 30 day period of time in early 2014 while police sought him out on drug and assault charges. Baumrucker’s phone contained a photo of Marriya in a bikini.

Police became aware of the relationship while looking for Baumrucker when a woman told them she overheard Baumrucker speaking on the phone with a woman named Marriya, saying “the police are chasing me, I am in an apartment.”

After Baumrucker was arrested, Marriya visited him in jail at least ten times in one month. In doing so, Marriya improperly used the attorney-client booth even though she wasn’t assigned to any of Baumrucker’s criminal cases.

Baumrucker has a significant criminal record, which includes time spent in prison for robbery, assault and domestic violence.

To assure that he isn’t mistaken to be an honest person, he has the word “criminal” tattooed on his forehead. Maybe Marriya should do the same and have the word “Moron” tattooed on her forehead.

As we speak (ca. September 2014), Marriya continues to be employed by the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office in Spokane, Washington.
