Cost of State cars v. Mileage for 20 CA State Senators
The waste, abuse and in some instances outright fraud (that issue will be addressed in detail later) involving cars provided to California State Senators is rather mind-boggling. Below you’ll see what it would have cost the taxpayer had these overpaid and indulgent ingrates been reimbursed for each mile they drove with their personal car that specifically related to official state business. As you’ll see below the total for this absurd waste for 20 senators is just under $1.5 million.
Below are twenty examples beginning with taxpayer losses of $72,578 and ending with $28,965 for a total loss of $888,962 for 20 senators. In truth, senators are lucky if 20% of their use of these cars is related to provable state business.
The totals for the amounts the taxpayers actually paid to provide luxury vehicles to state senators verses what it would have cost if they were paid mileage is set forth below, followed by individual costs fo 20 senators. Since my prior investigation of Chief Justice Thomas Moyer of the Ohio Supreme Court and several associate justices proved beyond all doubt that at least 85% or more of the use of state vehicles and fuel related to personal use.
$1,621,758 = total taxpayer cost to provide 20 senators with vehicles
$799,929 = cost if senators were reimbursed by the mile
$821,829 = costs for cars verses mileage reimbursement = taxpayer loss
$159,986 = actual official state mileage costs = 20% of miles driven
$1,461,772 = total losses to taxpayers for 20 senators
$73,089 = average taxpayer loss per senator
