Attorney Katherine Windler of Denver; convicted shoplifter

The state of California provided Katherine Mary Windler with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from University of Denver Law School.

The California State Bar Court found Kathy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Kathy was arrested for shoplifting after leaving a Pacific Palisades grocery store with a shopping cart of groceries worth nearly $200, for which she did not pay for.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Kathy’s first foray at shoplifting. She had previously been convicted two times for engaging in similar conduct.

In a lame attempt at levity, Kathy had the chutzpah t o attribute her criminal conduct to panic attacks. Yeah, that‘s what we all do when we have a panic attack. We go to the nearest grocery store and steal a few hundred dollars worth of merchandise.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfit s sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Kathy by gifting her with a complimentary 180-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2014), Kathy practices at 3737 Gill Drive in Denver, Colorado.
