Attorney Mark Pyper of Phoenix; ethical dwarf
The state of Arizona presented Mark B. Pyper with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Santa Clara University Law School.
The Arizona State Bar found Mark guilty of the following misconduct.
- Failed to provide client with written fee agreement
- Failed to advise client that case was moved to Superior Court
- Failed to advise client about counterclaim that could lead to costly attorney’s fees
- Failed to communicate with client as to status of legal matter
- Failed to appear for several court hearings on client’s behalf
- Withdrew representation while application for attorney’s fees was pending
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Mark by gifting him with a two-year term of probation.
In truth, the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Mark.
As we speak (ca. July 2014), Mark practices with Owens & Pyper PLC at 3030 North Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.
