Attorney Elden Stoops of North Manchester, IN; ethical misfit
The state of Indiana presented Elden Stoops with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Valparaiso University Law School.
The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission found Elden guilty of the following misconduct.
- Engaged in improper ex parte (one-sided) communications with judge
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
- Assisted judge in conduct that he knew violated code of judicial conduct
- Failed to comply with court rules when filing motion for relief
- Failed to provide opposing counsel with copy of motion
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Elden by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
