Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX): Today’s “Lunatic” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Louie. In the past, he has been the recipient of twenty (20) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

During a recent (07/07/14) interview with the WorldNetDaily Comedy Blog, Louis said that GOP congressional members should respond to Obama’s proclamation that he would issue executive orders on immigration policy by “defunding anything” that Obama “cares deeply about that’s not important to the American people.”

Screwy Louie went on to say:

• “Well, the Founders gave us the power of the purse.”
• “We’re going to start defunding the Attorney General’s office.”
• “We need to start eliminating money for any agency, including the White House that is not following the law. And then you get their attention.”
• “That’s what the Founders anticipated.”

When Louie attended Baylor University Law School, they must not have offered any classes in constitutional law and if they did, Louie the Moron must have skipped those classes.

The only agency of the federal government that should be totally defunded is the U.S. House of Representatives. Calling them the “do-nothing-Congress” gives the members of the 1948 Congress a bad name.

Congrats Louis; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Lunatics”; you are far too humble.
