Judge Ernest Balivet of St. Johnsbury, VT; lazy loser

The state of Vermont presented John C. Murphy with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the University of Maine Law School.

The Maine Judicial Conduct board found Judge Balivet guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Ernie failed to rule on a family court matter involving the guardianship of a minor child for five (5) years. Put simply, Ernie found it acceptable to sit on his large derriere for five years while refusing to rule on the guardianship matter.

Of course Ernie continued to collect his undeserved paycheck while he made the family wait five years for him to issue a ruling in the case.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Vermont Supreme Court punished Ernie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2014), Ernie remains sit ting as the presiding Probate Judge for Caledonia County in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
