The state of Arkansas presented J.F. Atkinson Jr. with a law license in 1976.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found J.F. guilty of the following misconduct.

Atkinson’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Client lost legal right to appeal due to gross negligence
  3. Failed to provide competent legal representation (Dufus)
  4. Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
  5. Knowingly disobeyed appellate court rules
  6. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Atkinson by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

Atkinson’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  1. Failed to communicate with client
  2. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  3. Failed to provide competent legal representation (Dumbo)
  4. Failed to abide by client’s decisions re: representation
  5. Failed to keep client advised of status of legal matter
  6. Failed to comply with client’s requests for information
  7. Knowingly disobeyed rules of court

  2. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  3. Failed to abide by client’s decisions re: representation
  4. Failed to keep client advised of status of legal matter
  5. Failed to comply with client’s requests for information

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Atkinson by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

 

In addition to the above three instances of misconduct, Atkinson previously received one other complimentary reprimand and a complimentary caution for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
