Attorney Linda Bowlin of Pocahontas, AR; ethical misfit

The state of Arkansas presented Linda Oakley Bowlin with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law School.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Linda guilty of the following misconduct.

During the time Linda was a full time employee of the Murrey Grider law firm, she was hired to exclusively represent Mr. Grider and his contract for child support enforcement cases in eastern Arkansas. Mr. Grider paid Linda her salary.

Shortly after she began her employment with Grider, Linda’s compensation arrangement changed. She received a month check for $11,250 and immediately paid $5,000 of that total to Nick Wilson, each month.

Linda received her instructions about the payment of the $5,000 directly from Mr. Wilson. Linda continued this payment activity for six months.

Linda’s activity was part of the indictment for mail fraud against Nick Wilson and Murrey Guider.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misconduct sitting on the Committee for Professional Conduct punished Linda by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2014), Linda practices at 1835 Stoney Point Road in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
