Judge James Dixon of Olympia, WA; enabler for drunk drivers

The state of Washington presented James Joseph Dixon with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Puget Sound University Law School.

Judge Dixon presided over the case of Shaun Goodman who left a bar in Olympia after in his Ferrari and then led police on a high speed chase that approached 100 mph at times before crashing into two cars, jumping the curb and eventually crashing into the side of a house.

A passenger who unfortunately accepted a ride from Goodman was forced to jump from the moving Ferrari as it slowed down while approaching an intersection.

Goodman’s alcohol content was twice the legal limit in Washington. He subsequently pleaded guilty to felony charges of eluding a police officer and driving under the influence (DUI). This was Goodman’s seventh DUI conviction.

Judge Dixon the Premier Enabler for Drunk Drivers in Washington had the chutzpah to sentence Goodman to no jail time and one year in a work release program.

During the sentencing hearing, Dixon had the audacity to say:

“At some point he’s an important businessman in the community, and it wouldn’t be fair for him and his employees would suffer if he went to real jail.” When I read this I had to take a brake from my computer so I could trek over to the bathroom and fetch me a dry towel.

As further proof that he is an enabler for drunk drivers, Judge Dixon gave Goodman permission to fly to New York City for the Super Bowl within a month of his arrest. Goodman’s lawyer told Judge Dixon that Goodman had “what may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see his hometown team [Seahawks] play in the Super Bowl. Off to the bathroom to fetch another towel!

Former Governor Christine Gegoire was duped into appointing Dixon as a Thurston County Superior Court Judge in February 2012. Jimmy didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Olympia area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.
