Attorney Douglas Broch of Friendswood, TX; serial offender

The state of Texas presented Douglas A. Broch with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from South Texas Law College.

A panel of the District 5 Grievance Committee found Douglas guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to respond to client requests for information
  • Failed to respond to grievance committee (Up Yours, said Doug!)
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Doug’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand and a stayed 9-month suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Douglas by gifting him with a complimentary fully probated 15-month suspension of his law license.

In truth the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Doug.

As we speak (ca. April 2014) Douglas practices at 902 South Friendswood Drive in Friendswood, Texas
