Attorney Timothy Scannell of Grand Marais, MN; pervert

The state of Minnesota presented Timothy Christopher Scannell with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Samford University Law School.

In late 2013, Timmy was charged with sexual misconduct for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

Timmy was indicted on two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct following a nearly seven-month investigation by former U.S. Attorney Thomas Heffelfinger. (Amy Forliti, Associated Press)

The relationship came to light when the girl’s family sought a restraining order. In the petition, the parents said Timmy was a longtime friend who told them he loved the girl and that their relationship had turned physical, involving “kissing and touching, but nothing illegal.” A judge later granted the restraining order and told Timmy to stay away from the teenager.

Timmy’s Hyperbolic (BS) Defense

In defending his perverted conduct, Timmy’s lawyer said, "All of the alleged events in this case occurred while he was suffering in the darkest hours of his severe depression.”

Clearly Timmy and his lawyer Richard Swanson missed their calling as Standup Comedians.

All that remains now is to see if Timmy is convicted and if so what his sentence will be.

As we speak (ca. March 2014), Timmy continues to be employed as the Cook County Attorney in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
