Judge Yvette Alexander of Baton Rouge; Arrogant, Lifetime Porker

The state of Louisiana presented Yvette Mansfield Alexander with a law license in 1979 after she graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU).

Before duping the voters into electing her as a District Court Judge in Baton Rouge, Yvette spent the prior sixteen (16) years with her nose firmly implanted in the public trough. Put simply, Yvette has been pigging out at the public trough for thirty-five (35) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Baton Rouge area was about to offer Yvette a good paying job.

Yvette thinks it acceptable to become a world traveler as long as the taxpayers fund her exotic vacations. In the recent past, Yvette has hosed the taxpayers for trips to Hawaii, Jamaica and Italy. She is now on her way to Morocco, where she will stay in a five-star hotel while attending a so-called judicial conference. (Rebekah Allen, The Advocate, Baton Rouge)

The cost to the overburdened taxpayers of Louisiana for Yvette’s unnecessary trip to Morocco will be at least $2,989. The trip is billed as the mid-winter meeting of the National Bar Association. It is laughably cited as a Continuing Legal Education seminar. However, it is particularly absurd to suggest that one need travel to Morocco, Hawaii, Italy or Jamaica to take part in such educational seminars. In fact, most of these educational seminars are available via the internet.

From 2007 to 2012, Arrogant Yvette took 37 trips, and hosed the taxpayers for a total of $52,704. Yvette’s travels included two trips to Hawaii and Jamaica, and visits to Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, the Virgin Islands and the West Indies.

Each and every day that Yvette is on a taxpayer-funded vacation, she is paid $640 for performing no judicial services on behalf of the taxpayers. And this doesn’t take into consideration the cost of assigning another judge to replace Yvette while she’s gallivanting around the world.

As we speak (ca. March 2014), Arrogant Yvette remains on the bench as a District Court Judge in Baton Rouge.
