Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

 This isn’t the first Award presented to Liberty Counsel and/or it’s President Matt Staver. In the past, they have been the recipient of five (5) awards, which can be viewed by going to the listed categories at the end of this article.

In an ongoing effort to fill its coffers with funds by unmercifully attacking the gay community, the Morons at Liberty Counsel and its Chief Loon Matt Staver filed to new appellate briefs in defending same-sex marriage bans in Utah and Oklahoma. In their so-called legal briefs, they argue that “while same-sex couples can enter a union of the wills, it is not possible for them to join in body in the way true marriage has always required.” (Miranda Blue)

The comedians at Liberty Counsel, which is headed by Chief Comic Matt Staver, filed one brief in support of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), a group that pushes "ex-gay” therapy for LGBT, which is better known as “Pray Away the Gay.”

One of America’s Chief Profiteers of the “Pray Away the Gay” scheme was none other than Rep. Michele Bachman’s husband Marcus. Marcus and his fellow charlatans have pocketed hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars pushing their so-called conversion therapy. This ongoing scam gives a new meaning to “Hocus Pocus.”

In an obvious play to engender additional contributions from like-minded bigots and screwballs, Liberty Counsel displayed its inherent ignorance by arguing that legalizing same-sex marriage is similar to banning interracial marriage. This laughable assertion is further evidence that relying on Liberty University to put forth a rational legal argument is analogous to hiring Larry King as a spokesman for monogamous relationships.

Congrats Liberty Counsel; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Understood “Screwball”; organizations, you are far too humble.
