Attorney Kate Christnot of Washington, DC; certified loser

The state of Wisconsin presented Kate Christnot with a law license in 1993.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Kate guilty of the following misconduct

In one matter, Kate represented a divorce client who was awarded a one-half interest in his ex-wife's retirement plan. Kate failed to prepare a QDRO (Qualified Domestic Relations Order) for the client, and she also failed to refund the unearned portion of the retainer.

Over the next two years following the divorce, Kate failed to respond to the client’s numerous attempts to communicate with her.

• Failed to respond to disciplinary agency (Up Yours, said Kate!)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to respond to client’s repeated requests for information
• Failed to refund unearned portion of fee (cheater)

As a consequence of her misconduct, cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Kate by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Kate is employed by the US Department of Health & Human Services Office of Child Support Enforcement in Washington, DC.
