Attorney George Ashford of Chicago; ethical leprechaun

The state of Michigan provided George R. Ashford with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #27 found George guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, George represented Northwest Airlines in a wrongful discharge action entitled Tony Cottman v. Northwest Airlines in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division.

While the litigation was pending, George engaged in an intimate personal relationship with Barbara Brown, a plaintiff in the case that was suing Northwest Airlines, his client.

Moreover, George engaged in communications with Ms. Brown concerning the ongoing litigation without the permission of her attorney. George made ex-parte settlement offers to Ms. Brown and advised her not to influence the other plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished George by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2014), George is employed as Associate General Counsel for AT&T at 225 West Randolph Street in Chicago, Illinois.
