Judge Jaymie Wilfong of Elkins, WV; loser, adulterer

The state of West Virginia presented Jamie Godwin Wilfong with a law license in 1995.

Judge Wilfong sits as a Randolph County Circuit Court Judge in Elkins, West Virginia.

In mid-October 2013, the Randolph County Commission suspended pending an investigation into her conduct. In addition, the Judicial Commission has also embarked on an investigation of her conduct.

Jaymie’s misconduct involves her relationship with Travis Carter, regional director of North Central Community Corrections. Carter was recently (Oct 2013) suspended by the Randolph County Commission pending an investigation by an outside law firm.

Jaymie does not deny that she was involved in a relationship with Mr. Carter. Both Jamie and Carter are married, meaning they both are admitted adulterers.

In a lame attempt at levity, Jayme said:
  • “I work very hard every day to serve the citizens of Randolph County. However, I am not a perfect person.”
  • “I am working to restore the faith of my family and those who care about me, and I am genuinely sorry I have disappointed so many people.”
Clearly Jamie missed her calling as a standup comedian.

All that’s left now is to see what if any punishment the West Virginia Supreme Court metes out to Jaymie as a result of her misconduct.

As we speak (ca. October 2013), Jaymie remains on the bench as a Family Court Judge (An obvious joke!) on the Circuit Court in Randolph County.
