Judge Gerald Keegan of Paterson, NJ; ethical dwarf

The state of New Jersey presented Gerald S. Keegan with a law license in 1980

The New Jersey Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct recently (ca. Sept 2013) charged Judge Keegan with the following misconduct.

Gerald found it acceptable to dine out with Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission supervisor, Anthony T. Ardis would was recently indicted for a variety of felonies, which included theft for treating agency vehicles, tools and equipment as his own property. Ardis was also charged with taking government employees away from regular shifts to do work on his home, or the homes of friends and family.

Although Ardis was indicted in Passaic County, Gerald is not presiding over his criminal case; however, the case is being litigated in the same court house that Gerald works.

The Committee concluded that Judge Keegan’s decision to continue dining with Ardis after he was indicted “demeans the judicial” office in violation of well established judicial canons.

All that’s left now is to see what punishment the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court mete out to Judge Keegan.
