Attorney Edward Sylvia, Jr. of New Bedford, MA; repeat offender

The state of Massachusetts presented Edward J. Sylvia, Jr. with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from Case Western Reserve University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio. 

The Board of Bar Overseers found Eddy guilty of the following misconduct.

Edward’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

1. Improperly used trust account funds to pay operating expenses
2. Failed to maintain individual client ledges as required
3. Improperly allowed earned fees to remain in his office trust account
4. Failed to retain records pertaining to his office trust account
5. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Eddy!)
   

On at least seven (7) occasions, Eddy wrote checks that were dishonored because there were insufficient funds in his account.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Eddy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

Edward’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

1. Failed to maintain individual client ledges as required
2. Improperly allowed earned fees to remain in his office trust account
3. Improperly used trust account funds to pay law office operating expenses
4. Withdrew legal fees without allocation to specific clients
5. Check register failed to contain client identifiers as to all deposits or all checks
6. Wrote at least 2 checks on insufficient account (rubber)
   

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Eddy by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Eddy practices with Edward J. Sylvia & Associates at 558 Pleasant Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
