Attorney Robert Crews of Jonesboro, AR; unethical Dumbo

The state of Arkansas presented Robert Brent Crews with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Robert represented Heath Gephart on felony drug charges in Lawrence county Circuit Court, in which the primary state’s witnesses against Gephart would be officers of the Walnut Ridge Police Department, an agency and officers Robert regularly represented and advised as Walnut Ridge City Attorney.

Given these undisputed facts, Robert could not lawfully represent Gephart while at the same time acting as City Attorney for the police officers that were going to testify against his client.

Apparently, Robert the Dumbo had great difficulty in comprehending the legal ramifications of engaging in a blatant “conflict of interest.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Conduct Committee punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2013), Robert practices at 923 Union Street in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
