Attorney Michael Booher of Dayton, OH; ethical gnome

The state of Ohio presented Michael Robert Booher with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from Ohio State University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found James guilty of the following misconduct
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Accepted employment where his judgment on client’s behalf affected by his personal interests
In one matter, Michael was appointed to represent a female client on felony charges. Subsequently, Mike met with the client several times in the county jail.

During one meeting, Mike and his client discussed the subject of sexual activity. At a second meeting, Mike and the client engaged in sexual activity.

After the client reported the sexual activity to the trial judge, he appointed another attorney to represent the woman and jail officials placed restrictions on Mike’s future jail visits.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Michael by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2013), Michael practices with the Law Office of Michael Booher at 120 West 2nd Street in Dayton, Ohio.
