Former Judge John Harris of Los Angeles; pervert
The state of California presented John David Harris with a law license in 1960 after he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley Law School.
In 1984, John duped the voters in Los Angeles County into electing him as a Municipal Court Judge. He subsequently duped the voters in 1998 into electing him as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge.
During the prior 13 years (1971-1983, John was employed as a Los Angeles deputy city attorney. In other words, Johnny was a lifetime porker who had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for at least 33 years.
During his time on the bench, the Commission on Judicial Performance charged Johnny with the following misconduct.
After presiding over two felony sexual assault trials, Johnny met in chambers with the victims and sought to initiate personal relationships. One of the victims was only 16-years-old.
On at least eight (8) occasions, Johnny made comments to or about female attorneys, court staff members, or jurors that were inappropriately flirtatious or sexual. Johnny’s comments included invitations to have lunch, a remark that a staff member was “cute,” and thanking a lawyer for not challenging an attractive female juror because “a judge has to have something to look at during trial.”
Even after being notified that he was being investigated, Johnny told a female security officer screening visitors for weapons at the South Gate courthouse, “Let’s go to chambers so you can search me.”
Before the Judicial Commission could issue a ruling on Johnny the Perv’s misconduct, he did what most cowards do, he resigned from the bench.
Because Judicial Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Johnny was never criminally charged with obstruction of justice.
As we speak (ca. June 2013) Johnny practices at 2478 Crestview Drive in Los Angeles, California.
