Judge Rick Porter of Port Angeles, WA; Judge Roy Bean Wannabee

The state of Washington presented Rick L. Porter with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School.

The Washington Judicial Commission found Judge Porter guilty of the following misconduct.

FYI: Judge Roy Bean was a infamous saloon-keeper and Justice of the Peace from Vale Verde County, Texas, who called himself “The Law West of the Pecos.” Roy was also affectionately referred to as “The Hanging Judge.”

Ricky found it acceptable to issue at least ten (10) bench warrants in cases in which he had been disqualified via the filing of affidavits of prejudice.

Ricky also engaged in unlawful ex parte (one-sided) communications about a defendant from a court clerk that the defendant was submitting false information to the court. Making matters worse, Ricky failed to timely disclose this ex parte communication to counsel for the defendant and then relied on the unlawful information in ruling on the defendant’s case.

It is absolutely amazing how morons and Judge Roy Bean Wannabees like Rick Porter are able to weasel their way onto the bench.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Ricky by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. June 2013), Ricky continues to sit as a judge on the Clallam County District Court in Port Angeles, Washington
