The state of Wisconsin presented David L. DenHartigh with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
 
The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found David guilty of the following involving a finding of misconduct by the Oregon Supreme Court
  1. Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  2. Failed to maintain client funds in client trust account
  3. Failed to carry out a contract of employment entered into with a client (victim)
  4. Failed to maintain complete records of all client funds as required
  5. Failed to render appropriate accounts to his clients regarding their funds
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon and Wisconsin Supreme Courts punished David by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (ca. June 2013), David practices at 269 Missouri Avenue South in Salem, Oregon.
