Attorney Mimi Phillips of Memphis; lying Dufus

 
The state of Tennessee provided Mimi Phillips with a law license in 1978 after she graduated from the University of Memphis Law School.
 
The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Mimi guilty of the following misconduct.
 
Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
Intentionally misled (lied) to trial court judge
 
In one matter, Mimi stated to the trial judge that her client had always paid his child support without disclosing his substantial support arrearage.
 
Making matters worse, Mimi’s representations to the court about her prior disciplinary record were was incorrect (false).
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Mimi by gifting her with a complimentary censure.
 
As we speak (ca. May) Mimi practices at 80 Monroe Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee.
