State Rep. Steve Cookson (R-MO): Today’s “Humanitarian” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

State Rep. Steve Cookson (R-MO)
Today’s “Humanitarian”Award Winner

Steve was successful in duping the voters into electing him to the Missouri general Assembly in 2010.

Steve is the sponsor of legislation that mandates that children of welfare recipients must attend public school at least 90 percent of the time in order to receive medical benefits. Students who miss more than 10 percent of class would not be eligible for any medical care.

Steve doesn’t propose any legislation that would punish well-to-do students by eliminating taxpayer funded support for athletic programs if one of their parents is receiving public assistance as a result of being imprisoned for committing a felony.

Apparently, if a child missed three weeks of school in one year because he/she came down with pneumonia, then Steve the Humanitarian would disqualify the entire family from receiving any public assistance.

In appreciation of his Humanitarian largess, Steve’s fellow Humanitarians sitting in the Missouri General Assembly rewarded him by naming him the Chairman of the House Education Committee.

Congrats Steve; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Least Appreciated “Humanitarians”; you are far too humble.
