Attorney Charles Glynn of Milwaukee; ethical leprechaun

The state of Wisconsin presented Charles L. Glynn with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Charles!)
  2. Failed to reasonably explain matter to clients to permit them to make informed decisions re: representation
  3. Paying himself excessive and unauthorized fees (crook)
  4. Submitting false itemization bills regarding billing clients hourly fees
  5. Made disbursements of funds w/o prior probate court approval
  6. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  7. Failed to communicate with clients
  8. Failed to keep clients reasonably informed of the status of legal matters
  9. Failed to appear at court scheduled hearing on client’s behalf
In one matter while working for the State Public Defender’s Office, Charles was appoint ed to represent a client on an appeal of his conviction and sentence. Charles never filed a notice of appeal for the client, and the client’s right to a direct appeal was theeby jeopardized. Subsequently, the client requested that a new attorney be appointed to represent him.

In another matter, a client hired Charles to resolve a construction lien dispute. In response to the client’s request, Charles sent him a copy of a letter he allegedly sent to opposing counsel; however, Charles never sent the letter to opposing counsel and lied to the client that he had.

Later, Charles lied again to his client when he told him he had sent opposing counsel copies concerning the lien. As a consequence of Charles’ gross negligence and lying, a default judgment was entered against his client regarding the lien matter. Charles never advised his client about the default judgment.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme
Court punished Charles by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Charles practices with the Law Offices of Charles Glynn at 8112 West Bluemound Road in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
