Sen. Larry Craig: Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Sen. Larry Craig

Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Everyone likely recalls Sen. Craig’s 2007 tap dancing routine at the MinneapolisAirport men’s room. For more info on Larry’s tap dancing, view the following article:

Letter to Sen. Larry Craig re: Escapade at MinneapolisAirport

Sen. Craig spent $216,000 in campaign funds to defend criminal charges lodged against him while he was tap dancing between stalls in the men’s room in Minneapolis.

The Federal Elections Commission (FED) said that Sen. Craig improperly used over $216,000 in campaign funds to pay attorneys to defend criminal charges lodged against while he was engaged in dancing between stalls in the men’s room in Minneapolis.

Larry has argued that he was on official business and therefore it was legal to use campaign funds. So now we have Larry the Comic arguing that playing footsy in the men’s room is official business. How cool is that?

Actually, Larry was commuting home from his job in D.C., and that surely cannot be legally construed as “official business.”

Maybe we should ask Larry’s campaign contributors if they wish to foot (pun intended) $216,000 in legal fees to defend his conduct in auditioning for Dancing with the Stars.

Hopefully, the judge presiding over this case will rule that Larry was not involved in official congressional business and order that his use of campaign funds was improper.

Congrats Larry; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Premier Standup Comedians; you are far too humble.
