The Federal Elections Commission (FED) said that Sen. Craig improperly used over $216,000 in campaign funds to pay attorneys to defend criminal charges lodged against while he was engaged in dancing between stalls in the men’s room in
Larry has argued that he was on official business and therefore it was legal to use campaign funds. So now we have Larry the Comic arguing that playing footsy in the men’s room is official business. How cool is that?
Actually, Larry was commuting home from his job in D.C., and that surely cannot be legally construed as “official business.”
Maybe we should ask Larry’s campaign contributors if they wish to foot (pun intended) $216,000 in legal fees to defend his conduct in auditioning for Dancing with the Stars.
Hopefully, the judge presiding over this case will rule that Larry was not involved in official congressional business and order that his use of campaign funds was improper.
