Attorney Bill Ponath of Phoenix; ethical dwarf

The state of Arizona presented Bill E. Ponath with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Pepperdine University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Bill guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to communicate with clients
  3. Failed to safeguard client property
  4. Failed to cooperate with disciplinary authorities (Up Yours, said Billy!)
  5. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  6. Failed to properly mange non-attorney office staff
One matter took place during the pendency of a lawsuit filed against Bill. The trial court ruled that Bill unnecessarily delayed and expanded the scope of the litigation by failing to complete a judgment debtor questionnaire as he agreed to do.

In another matter, Bill failed to return a bankruptcy client’s telephone calls in a timely manner, and filed a declaration of homestead after his client fired him.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Bill by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2013) Bill practices with Bill Ponath Law Offices PLLC at 16421 North Tatum Blvd in Phoenix, Arizona.
