Attorney James Whitfield of Cincinnati; felonious pugilist

The state of Ohio presented James Jonathan Whitfield with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from the University of Cincinnati Law School.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found James guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, James was involved in an altercation with another man at a bar. James hit the man in the head with a glass bottle causing serious injuries. Subsequently, James pleaded guilty to one court of aggravated assault, a 4th degree felony.

In another matter, James found it acceptable to engage in the unauthorized (illegal) practice of law in Kentucky even though he wasn’t licensed by the Kentucky Supreme Court.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished James by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

It must be comforting to the folks in Cincinnati to know that there is yet another convicted felon practicing law in their area compliments of the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. February 2013) James practices at 407 Vine Street in Cincinnati, Ohio.
