Toledo Blade – May 27, 2005 – High court critic will not face sanctions

Blade Columbus Bureau
COLUMBUS - The Ohio Elections Commission yesterday ruled that self-appointed judicial watchdog David Palmer will not face sanctions for bringing complaints against sitting state Supreme Court justices that were dismissed as unfounded.

The commission found that complaints brought against Chief Justice Thomas Moyer and Justice Terrence O'Donnell were not frivolous, despite requests from their attorneys to hold Mr. Palmer responsible for legal fees and costs.

Executive Director Phil Richter said a third request for sanctions from Justice Alice Robie Resnick was dropped before yesterday's hearing.

Mr. Palmer withdrew his complaint against Justice Resnick at last month's hearing.

Mr. Palmer has filed numerous judicial complaints before a variety of panels, challenging their use of state-funded vehicles and spending of campaign funds.

A former Maumee resident now living in California, Mr. Palmer did not attend yesterday's hearing
