Attorney James Mickelson of Sandy, UT; ethical misfit

The state of Utah presented James D. Mickelson with a law license in 1984.

Judge Leslie A. Lewis, 3rd District Court found James guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, James was hired to represent a client in a personal injury case. James failed to act diligently (slacker) on the client’s behalf. James failed to provide requested documents to the client’s insurance company.

In addition, James failed to return his client’s phone calls and to complete the matter for which he was hired.

And finally, James transferred the client’s case to another attorney without ever obtaining the client’s consent and without the client’s knowledge.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished James by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (December 2012) James practices at 2286 East 11580 South in Sandy, Utah.
