Attorney Edward Bunstine of Chillicothe, OH; convicted liar

The state of Ohio presented Edward Royal Bunstine with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Ohio Northern University Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Harvey guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  2. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  3. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
  4. Failed to acknowledge wrongfulness of his conduct
In one matter, Edward prepared affidavits for longtime friends. The affidavits contained information that could have led to criminal liability for the friends, who had a practice of sharing prescription medications.

Edward refused to turn over the affidavits to the sheriff’s department when requested to do so, claiming attorney-client privilege. The evidence proved that no attorney-client privilege existed.

Subsequently, Edward pled no contest (guilty) to two counts of disorderly conduct stemming from the false assertions he made to the sheriff regarding the affidavits.

Edward also took $1,000 from an individual who was implicated in the friend’s affidavits and failed to report it. The evidence established that Edward’s actions in regards to the affidavits were less about protecting his friends and more about protecting himself.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Edward by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 180-day suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Edward.

As we speak (ca. December 2012) Edward practices with the Bunstine Law Office at 32 South Paint Street in Chillicothe, Ohio.
