Attorney Daniel Gordon of Eugene, OR; ethical dwarf

The state of Oregon provided Daniel N. Gordon with a law license in 1978.

The Oregon State Bar found Daniel guilty of the following misconduct:

Daniel was hired by Capital One Bank to file a collection lawsuit against Linda Houlihan claiming she owned Capital $580.30 plus interest, costs, disbursements, and reasonable attorney fees.

Subsequently, Linda provided Daniel’s office with a check payable to Capital One for $580.30. Two weeks later, Daniel’s office notified Linda that she had a balance owing to Capital of $234.74. Five days later, Daniel’s office received a check from Linda for the $234.74.

Three weeks after Linda paid the entire bill to Daniel regarding Capital One, Daniel filed an affidavit with the court in support of an ex parte order of default and general judgment. In his affidavit, Daniel falsely stated that Linda still owed Capital One $580.30 plus interest, reasonable attorney fees, and costs and disbursements incurred.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Daniel by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Daniel practices with Daniel N. Gordon PC at 4023 West 1st Avenue in Eugene, Oregon.
