Attorney Karen Callanan of Rochester, NY; ethical dwarf

 
The state of New York provided Karen Smith Callanan with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from Albany Law School. 
 
The Grievance Committee of the 7th Judicial District found Karen guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to provide competent legal representation (Dumbo)
  2. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  3. Neglected a legal matter entrusted to her
  4. Failed to consult with client about means to achieve client’s objectives
  5. Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matters
  6. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  7. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  8. Failed to fully cooperate with grievance committee (Up Yours, said Karen!)
For nearly two years Karen failed to respond to numerous communications from her client, opposing counsel and Supreme Court regarding a proposed qualified domestic relations order (QDRO) that had been submitted to the Supreme Court for approval. Subsequently, her client (victim) fired the grossly negligent and incompetent loser.
 
After the client filed the ethics complaint against her, Karen refused to respond to numerous inquiries from the Grievance Committee regarding its investigation, and failed to appear for a formal interview before the Committee.
 
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Karen’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received numerous complimentary letters of caution from the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee for engaging in similar misconduct.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits Grievance Committee of the 7th Judicial District punished Karen by gifting her with a complimentary censure,.
 
As we speak (ca. October 2012) Karen practices at 36 West Main Street in Rochester, New York.
