Judge Michael Giles of Newark, NJ; moron, liar, ethical gnome

Judge Michael Giles has unfortunately been sitting on the bench in Newark since 1991. Judge Michael Giles is without doubt a foul-mouthed loser, liar and ethical gnome, and these are just his good points.

In 2006, Judge Michael Giles decided it was time to spew forth a few obscenities at attorney Sebastian Bio when he appeared in Judge Michael Giles’ courtroom.

During a hearing held by Judge Michael Giles he hurled the following obscenities at Mr. Bio:
  • “I said get the fuck out of my courtroom”
  • “What the fuck don’t you understand?”
  • “Shut the fuck up”
  • “Get the fuck out of here”
On another occasion in his chambers while Judge Michael Giles was presiding over settlement negotiations involving Spencer Savings Bank, he mouthed the following obscenity:
  • “Did you wake up on the wrong fucking side of the bed?
Judge Michael Giles – Repeat Offender

As could be expected when dealing with a certified moron and ethical dwarf such as Judge Michael Giles, this wasn’t his first bite at the “Judicial Discipline Tree.”

In February 1998, Judge Michael Giles received a private “complimentary cautionary” letter from the enablers and apologists on the Judicial Commission. This “complimentary cautionary” letter was provided to Judge Michael Giles for being discourteous to litigants (aka, treating them like crap).

After receiving the “complimentary cautionary” letter in 1998, Judge Michael Giles falsely promised (Surprised?) he would never so act again in the future. This sham promise didn’t really count because Judge Michael Giles had his fingers crossed at the time.

Judge Michael Giles’ Sham Claim of Mitigation

Judge Michael Giles had the chutzpah to defend his deplorable conduct by claiming it came about because of the following:
  • He suffered serious personal health issues that impaired his ability to effectively function as a judge [except on payday, right Mike?]
  • He suffered profound and tragic familial losses
  • He suffered from undisclosed personal matters [like telling the truth Mikey Baby?]
As could be expected, the enablers and apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission gave great weight to Judge Michael Giles’ hyperbolic (BS) excuses.

In fact the Chief enabler and moron on the Commission, former Surpeme Court Justice Daniel O’Hern asked Judge Michael Giles “how he was doing now.” Kinda tugs at your heart, right? Judge Michael Giles replied by saying “Better,” adding that he and his family had undergone counseling. “My wife suggested going on disability but I didn’t want that,” said Judge Michael Giles. He was already mentally disabled, so what’ the point?

Judge Michael Giles’ Soppy Defense Lawyer

Now, I’ll readily admit that everyone, even a certified loser like Judge Michael Giles is entitled to a vigorous defense.

However, Judge Michael Giles’ attorney Thomas Ashley took hyperbole to new levels when he made the following statements in defending the egregious misconduct of Judge Michael Giles.
  • Judge Michael Giles lived in a “house of gloom”
  • Judge Michael Giles suffered the death of his mother-in-law
  • Judge Michael Giles and his wife were left to raise two granddaughters after the untimely death of his daughter
  • In May 2006, Judge Michael Giles was diagnosed with glaucoma
  • In Nov 2006, Judge Michael Giles underwent a brain angiogram
  • Judge Michael Giles simply wasn’t himself [Yes he was Mr. Ashley; he’s the same loser now that he was in 1998]
Judge Michael Giles’ So-Called Punishment

As expected, the enablers and apologists on the New Jersey Judicial Commission presented Judge Michael Giles with a “complimentary reprimand.”

An unreliable source indicated that in appreciation of Judge Michael Giles’ years-long disservice to the community in Newark and his recognized achievements in spewing forth obscenities (aka, Potty Mouth), members of the Commission pooled their money and purchased a gift for Judge Michael Giles that is to be placed in his chambers in Newark.

A photo of the Commission’s gift to Judge Michael Giles is pictured to the right.
