Attorney Edward Amack of Gilbert, AZ; ethical dwarf

The state of Arizona presented Edward A. Amack with a law license in 19997 after he graduated from the Boston University Law School. Steven has also been provided with a law license to practice in Maryland and Massachusetts.

The Arizona State Bar found Edward guilty of engaging in the following misconduct
  1. Engaged in a conflict of interest
  2. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  3. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  4. Knowingly violated rules of conduct and/or induced another to so act
  5. Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  6. Intentionally concealed relevant facts from bar investigator, (Up Yours, said Eddy!)
Edward represented a client in an easement dispute. When the representation ended, Edward entered into a partnership agreement with the client to build and sell a home. Edward didn’t advise his client to seek independent legal counsel regarding the terms of the transaction or his role in it.

During the course of the partnership, Edward also jointly represented his partner and the partner’s girlfriend in a civil and criminal matter. At the conclusion of the representation, the partner became ill and assigned his interest in the partnership to Edward. In addition, Edward purchased a mobile home for the former partner and his girlfriend to live in.

When his former partner passed away, Edward talked about selling the mobile home. One of the terms of the sale as crafted by Edward stated that the deceased former partner’s girlfriend would not file an ethics complaint against Edward.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Edward by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2012) Edward practices the Amack Law Office at 1425 West Elliot Road in Gilbert, Arizona, which is about 25 miles east of downtown Phoenix.

Warning: Edward doesn’t carry legal malpractice insurance
