Judge Sidney P. Chapin of Bakersfield, CA; slacker

The state of California provided Sidney Partridge Chapin with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the UC Hastings Law School.

The Judicial Performance Commission found Sidney guilty of the following misconduct.

Sidney wasn’t concerned about performing the judicial services he was being handsomely paid for by the overtaxed citizens of California. The Code of Judicial Conduct mandates that a judge dispose of all judicial matters promptly.

On at least two cases assigned to Sidney the Slacker, he didn’t render a decision for over two (2) years. He failed to so act despite the fact that the parties (victims) to the litigation had submitted their positions to Sidney nearly over two years earlier.

It is painfully clear that the only thing Sidney is concerned about is picking up his undeserved bi-weekly paycheck of about $6,800.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the California Supreme Court punished Sidney by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (September 2012) Sidney continues to sit as a Kern County Superior Court Judge in Bakersfield, California.
