Judge Angela Dempsey of Tallahassee; liar
The state of Florida provided Angela Dempsey with a law license in 1994 after she graduated from the University of Florida Law School.
The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) found Judge Dempsey guilty of misconduct regarding false advertisements she published in 2005during her initial attempt to being elected to a judgeship. The false advertisements are as follows:
Posted an ad on YouTube entitled “re-elect” Judge Dempsey when she had not previously been elected to the circuit court
Sent out mailers to the voting public saying she had 20 years of legal experience when in fact she didn’t receive her law license until 1994
Even though Angela the Deceiver only had 11 years of legal experience as of 2005, she found it acceptable to lie to the voters in order to obtain a job she clearly wasn’t qualified for.
Unfortunately, Angela’s deceptive advertisements had the intended effect of duping the voters because she won the election. However, the morons (my apologies to morons) sitting on the Florida Supreme Court weren’t concerned enough to toss her from the bench. In not removing her from the bench, the Court has found it acceptable for judicial candidates in Florida to lie to the voters about their qualifications.
As a consequence of her misconduct, the patron saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Angela by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. August 2012) Angela continues to sit as a judge in Seminole County |
