Gov. Rick Perry: Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Gov. Rick Perry
Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

As Governor of Texas Ricky thought it appropriate to put forth yet another comedy skit to both entertain the troops so to speak and to further cement his status as one of America’s most unaccomplished standup comedians.

After Obama announced he was going to visit Texas, Ricky published a comedic news release, which is as follows:

“Perhaps while the President is visiting Texas, he can take a break from big-dollar fundraisers to disavow his Attorney General’s offensive and incendiary comments regarding our common-sense voter identification law.”
“In labeling the Texas voter ID law as a ‘poll tax,’ Eric holder purposefully used language designed to inflame passions and incite racial tension. It was not only inappropriate, but simply incorrect on its face.”
“The president should apologize for Holder’s imprudent remarks and for his insulting lawsuit against the people of Texas.”

Ricky laughingly claims that the voter ID law is intended to eliminate voter fraud; however, he has yet to put forth any real evidence of runaway voter fraud in the Lone Star state. As an avowed fiscal conservative, how does Ricky defend the millions of dollars in taxpayer funds spent on pursing this frivolous remedy to a problem that doesn’t exist?

It cannot be disputed that Obama isn’t going to carry Texas in November. In fact, a Democrat hasn’t won in Texas since Jimmy Carter did in 1976. Furthermore, in 2008, McCain received 4.6 million votes and Obama 3.5 million. If 100,000 of McCain’s votes went to Obama in 2008 as a result of voter fraud he still would have won by 1 million votes. Therefore, Ricky’s demand of an apology from Obama is an unmitigated joke from one of America’s Premier jokesters!

Congrats Ricky; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s most unaccomplished standup comedians; you are far too humble.
