How many votes did Trump lose because of Hannibal Lecter?

During a rally in New Jersey in May, he said, "'Silence of the Lambs.' Has anyone ever seen 'The Silence of the Lambs'? “The late, great Hannibal Lecter is a wonderful man."

Trump’s fascination with Hannibal Lecter, the infamous character from “Silence of the Lambs,” is well-documented. He’s mentioned Lecter’s tasty exploits on several occasions. Lecter, known for his rather unusual dietary preferences, indulged his culinary curiosities in states like Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and a few others. While these states enjoyed a peculiar culinary reputation, it’s hard to ignore the fact that Lecter’s diet might have led to some voters being permanently crossed off the rolls.

Rumor has it that Hannibal Lecter teamed up with the late Jeffrey Dahmer, especially when Lecter sought Dahmer’s “Rump Roast” recipe. Dahmer, who sourced his ingredients around Milwaukee, Wisconsin, might have influenced Hannibal’s menu choices.

If it weren’t for Hannibal’s insatiable appetite—and, to a lesser extent, Dahmer’s contribution to the culinary scene—the 2020 presidential election might have seen a different outcome. Had Hannibal and Dahmer opted for more conventional diets, Trump could have won the electoral college with 291 votes to Biden’s 247.

Let’s hope we don’t see a repeat of the Hannibal/Dahmer electoral losses in the future—if only because we’d prefer to avoid any more eerie culinary controversies!
