Judge Emily Cole of Long Beach, CA; ethical elf

The State of California presented Emily J. Cole with a law license in 2006 after she graduated from Golden State University Law School.

FYI: Emily has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past eighteen (18) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Los Angeles area was about to offer he a good paying job.

The California Judicial Commission found Emily guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to perform her judicial duties without bias or prejudice
  • Failed to not engage in speech or other conduct that would reasonably be perceived as bias
  • or prejudice. C
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety in all of her activities.
  • Failed to participate in establishing, maintaining, and enforcing high standards of conduct
  • Engaged in improper ex parte (one-sided) communications with a party to case then pending before the court
  • Acceptance of the judicial function does not confer greater wisdom upon the individual but only greater
  • responsibility

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Emily by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2024), Emily continues to dispense her so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Los Angeles County Superior Court Juge in Long Beach, California.
