Judge Nigel Gerald of England; ethical elf

The Law Society presented Nigel Gerald with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from  the University of Essex School of law.

The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office found Ijeoma guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to be courteous, patient, tolerant and to respect the dignity of all appearing before him. They should Failed to ensure his conduct maintained and enhanced public confidence in the judiciary
• Engaged in unprofessional conduct
• Behaved in a rude and aggressive manner towards a barrister
• Nigel told the barrister to “chill out” and mimicked him in the style of a character from a television sitcom
• Raised his voice and made remarks which showed irritation and a degree of contempt for counsel’s submissions
• Nigel’s actions fell short of the standards expected of a judge

As a direct consequence of his misconduct Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice, acting as dual cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary sanction of formal advice. Golly, I bet that Nigel suffered intolerable pain being so sanctioned!

As we speak (ca. June 2024), Stevie continues to dispense his so-called version of jurisprudence as a District Court Judge in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
